Bad Habits...

Christian has been wanting to nap in my bed. I let him on Mon. and Tue. Realized it was becoming and issue and didnt let him yesterday...Then today he was keeping Connor awake so I had to separate him. I put him on the futon in the spare room, where he fell into a diaper box head first and couldnt get out...lol :) Against my better judgment I put him in my bed, since the spare room is used as a storage room, with way to much to get into! He went right to sleep and so did Connor..Cole was already out! :)

I would love for them to have their rooms. But I always figured that would come when they were a little older. Right now its not a problem at bedtime. Just nap. Some days they play for over an hr before going to sleep. And they NEED to nap. Anyway, we only have 3 bedrooms right now, so thats not an option. So, do I just let Christian nap on my bed everyday?? I DONT KNOW?? It seems to make life a lil easier, but it may turn into him wanting to sleep on my bed at night too..

Random acts of cuteness...cubed..

Christian hums Twinkle Twinkle Little Star ALL the time! It has to be one of the cutest things ever! Every night when I put the to bed we read a story or 2 then I sing to them. I always say 'Ok, it's time to sing songs' and Christian starts in with 'Twinkle Twinkle, hmm hmm hmmmmmm' Honestly, he is suppose to be napping right now, but I hear him humming....The reason I decided to do this post! My sweet boy.

Connor thinks he is in charge, so it seems. A couple nights ago the boys were coloring before dinner and once dinner was ready I took the crayons away and served their plates...Well, this made Christian VERY upset. So, what does Connor do?? He gets up from the table, goes and gets the crayons and gives them back to Christian! And again, last night, the SAME thing happened. But, it was Cole..and for the life of me, I cant remember what it was over....But, Connor saw Cole crying and took it into his own hands to fix the problem...Little stinker! And yet I find it so sweet that he is so nurturing to his brothers. He wants them to be happy. :)

Yesterday at nap time I couldnt find Cole's binky anywhere. He had it when he woke up, and generally I take it away at breakfast, but he had lost it by then. So, i was searching everywhere for it. Then, I decide to ask him where it is. Without ANY hesitation he goes to his play kitchen and points to the stove. The door was stuck, so he couldnt open it. But, there inside, sure enough....was his binky!! I was just amazed at his memory!

They are also talking so much now. The Speech Therapist is most impressed with Christian and the amount of progress he has made in such a short period of time. He will repeat the most and even speaks a few sentences. The other day I even heard him put 2 sentences together!! I was shocked! And I now cant remember what they were (I really need to jot these things down WHEN they happen!) On Tuesday morning I was in their room getting clothes for them to wear to preschool and I hear Christian and Connor talking... Christian: Where'd momma go? Connor: MOMMA! Christian: Momma! Where'd ya go? It was adorable! I could just SEE Connor shrugging his shoulders as Christian asked him where I was!!! They are so cute!

Cole is talking more too. No sentences yet. But, before he would only say 'Mama, Dada, neh neh (binky)' That was IT! Now he says 'keys, cheese, moon, star, binky, cookie, more, octagon, and ball! That is all I can think of right now. But he is repeating more too. I am so glad he is making such great progress! He has tripled his vocabulary! GO COLE!!

Love you Forever

Although my boys push me to the edge of sanity, on a daily basis, I love them so very much. Every night I sneak into their room (2 or 3 times) just to watch them sleep and get one last good look at their handsome faces before I go to bed. I cant get enough of them. I have done this since they came home from the NICU. Although, instead of 2-3 times it was more like 30 visits 'Just to check on them' :). Quite often I think of the book 'Love You Forever' as I check on them one last time and whisper 'I love you' to each of them. We dont own that book, and I have never read it to them. But I read it several years ago and it has stuck with me. I will be THAT mom!

I love you boys! And I'll love you forever, I'll love you for always, As long as I'm living, My babies you'll be."

Strep

So, it started with Christian on Sat. He was cranky. He wouldn't nap, so I thought that was why he was so cranky. He cried and cried and then cried some more. He even threw up before bed (which I thought was due to the crying). Then Sunday morning he has a huge blowout diaper. So, I assume he has a tummy bug. He didn't eat much and was running a fever on and off. I just tried to feed him foods that would be gentle on his tummy and keep him hydrated. He only had that one blow out. Monday he was better. Still crabby, lethargic and not eating. But, no fever and no BM's at all. So I think he is getting better. Tue. morning he seems fine so I send him to school. Their policy is no fever, vomiting, diarrhea in 24 hrs and it had been longer than that...so off he went! The teacher only said they seemed tired at school, but once I picked them up Christian had a meltdown. And Connor was not so good either....I figure its time to see a Dr. Plus, Christian's nose looked swollen and his cheeks were puffy (not sure how that's related to his illness?). So, the Dr right away tells it is his throat and takes a swab. The test comes back positive for strep almost immediately. Poor kid. And last night Connor was running a fever, wouldn't eat dinner, and had that 'sick' look to him as well. Luckily the Dr went ahead and wrote me a prescription for antibiotics for ALL 3, to use as needed!! So far Cole has had the same symptoms as Christian early on. But no fever and he is still eating fine, so I haven't started him on the meds yet. Connor and Christian seem to be feeling better already! Thank goodness!

Strep throat = all the Popsicles you can eat!

Silly boy

Christian loves to color. They all do, really. But Christian thinks he should have a crayon in his hand at ALL times. Today when he was getting out of the car at preschool he saw a crayon on the floor board. I told him he couldnt take a crayon to school and he flipped out. As soon as he got back in the car after school all I heard was "crayon, crayon, crayon!" So, I gave it to him....He has not let go of it....

I tried to get it away at nap, but it made him upset, so I told him if he got out of bed, I WAS taking it away....He didnt move....:)

I cant wait to share this story with the world when he grows up to be an amazing artist! <3
